MUSCAT : Preliminary statistics from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) revealed that the fees collected for all legal real estate transactions amounted to RO 69 million, reflecting a 6.4 percent rise from the previous year.
In terms of specific transactions, the traded value of sales contracts reached RO 1.09 billion by November 2024, a 4.8 percent increase from 2023, with a total of 13,668 contracts – an increase of 3.8 percent.
The traded value of mortgage contracts increased by 46.4 percent, recording RO 2.27 billion for 20,680 contracts, while the number of swap contracts reached 1,325 contracts, with a value of RO 13.1 million.
The total number of properties issued by the end of December 2024 stood at 233,345, representing a slight decrease of 0.9 percent. However, the issuance of properties to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) citizens rose by 10 percent, totalling 1,447 properties.
