Well-known industrialist in UAE Mr. R.P. Murali has been appointed as Director Board member of the Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board recently. Mr. Murali is actively involved in socio-cultural activities in Sharjah for the last three and a half decades. He was also a member of the Loka Kerala Sabha during its last two editions.
A leading public figure in the socio-cultural activities of the Indian Association of Sharjah for the past three and a half decades as part of the ruling and opposition parties, Mr. Murali has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Indian Association several times.
He was the Chairman of the Sharjah Indian Associations’ Governing Front during the inauguration by Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan at the Sharjah Indian School Juisa.
Mr. Murali, who coordinates the activities of the various cultural communities in the UAE, is a founding member of MASS Sharjah, the early President and still active under the leadership of MASS.
During the time of distress owing to COVID-19, he took the lead in coordinating the efforts of NORKA, Loka Kerala Sabha, various cultural organisations, Indian associations and other public forums for the provision of food and medicine to the needy.
Mr. Murali is a public figure who has spearheaded the Abu Dhabi Shakti, Al Ain Malayalee Samajam, Dubai Orma, MASS Sharjah, Kairali Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah Chetana along with Kairali TV in the free repatriation of distressed Malayalis from the UAE.
The appointment of Mr. Murali to the Director Board will boost and streamline the efforts of the Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board which is headed by Kerala Pravasi Sangham State President and renowned film director P.T. Kunjumuhammed as the Chairman.
In this context, the appointment of people like Murali will surely help improve the functioning of the Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board to address the crisis in the employment sector following the COVID-19 epidemic.
