Pure Gold donates Dh1 million for kidney patients

Dubai: Dubai Charity Association has received a donation of over Dh1 million from Firoz Merchant, Founder and Chairman of Pure Gold Group, to support the association’s dialysis programme for kidney patients.

Khalid Al Olama, Board Member and General Secretary of Dubai Charity Association, expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to Merchant for this generous donation. He emphasised that this support will significantly contribute to improving the quality of life for kidney patients and enabling them to continue their lives as normally as possible.

He said: “This support is not just a financial contribution; it is a testament to Pure Gold Group’s belief in the importance of social responsibility and its role in supporting the community. We take great pride in our collaboration with the group and its continuous support for humanitarian work in our beloved UAE in general, and for Dubai Charity’s programs and initiatives in particular. This will enable us to achieve our ambitious goals in the healthcare sector and expand our services to reach as many low-income patients as possible. Our fruitful collaboration with Pure Gold Group is a model example of a partnership between the private and charitable sectors.”

Merchant said, “I feel proud and humbled by my role in securing the release of nearly 22,000 prisoners across the UAE so far. In 2024 alone, I personally oversaw the release of 2,765 individuals, helping them reunite with their families and reintegrate into society. This initiative is not just about granting freedom; it is about offering a new chance at life and empowering individuals to rebuild their future with dignity.”

Merchant said, “I pray to Almighty God to bless the great UAE, its esteemed leaders, and its wonderful people. Through our collective efforts, we can build a more inclusive and compassionate society—one that embodies our core values of respect, dignity, and care for all.”
