The Punjab Government has decided to distribute smartphones to girl students of classes 11 and 12 in Punjab. A total of 50000 smartphones will be distributed to those girl students who do not have one to facilitate their online learning amid the Pandemic.
Chief Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh will distribute the smartphones to the students. CMO Punjab has shared this piece of news on their official twitter handle also.
Meanwhile, in view of the present scenario, Schools across the country will remain closed till further notice comes. The reopening dates have yet been decided by the central or state government. The decision on schools and colleges to open is expected to be taken in September after analyzing the whole situation of the state.
Punjab reported 13,769 confirmed cases, and 9,064 people have recovered so far. Meanwhile, the state registered 318 deaths.
