Oman’s Unified Admission Centre completes registration and, admission for new academic year

Muscat : A total of 41,649 male and female students who completed their General Education Diploma or its equivalent in the 2023/2024 academic year were successful in their applications. Of these, 28,852 students were admitted to government higher education institutions, private institutions with missions and scholarships, and external missions and scholarships. This represents 69.3% of the total successful applicants.

The occupancy rate for available study seats this year reached an impressive 96.5 percent, following eight sorting operations, including the experimental, first, second, and third sorts, as well as additional sorting for other supportive admission services.

For the Omani Program for Cultural and Scientific Cooperation, aimed at students from friendly and sisterly countries, 98 male and female students were accepted, achieving a 100 percent occupancy rate for available study seats.

In postgraduate admissions, 189 applicants met the conditions for applying to scholarships at the master’s and doctoral levels. Of these, 176 candidates were selected for scholarships provided by various countries and donor bodies, with a selection rate of 93.1 percent of eligible applicants.
