Oman’s Foreign Minister says international plans for Palestine built on unfair and unsustainable grounds

MUSCAT : His Excellency stated that many global plans are built on “unfair and unsustainable foundations” and often rely on “policies based on hostility” that deprive Palestinians of their right to self-determination.

Speaking at the Young Presidents Organization Forum 2025 in Muscat, His Excellency also highlighted the contradiction in many governments’ stance on Palestine. While they advocate for a two-state solution, they refrain from recognizing the State of Palestine due to their position on certain political factions, such as Hamas. This, he said, prevents these governments from fully grasping the legitimate demands of these factions and the broader aspirations of the Palestinian people.
Reaffirming Oman’s diplomatic stance, he emphasized that the country’s foreign policy is rooted in openness, neutrality, and mutual respect—principles that he described as essential for achieving peace and stability in the region.
