Oman Sultan pardons 433 prisoners

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman has issued a special pardon to release 433 inmates convicted in different cases.

In a statement issued by Royal Oman Police said: “His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik the Supreme Commander issued a special pardon to release 433 inmates, of whom 217 are expats.”

The special pardon comes on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

On July 27, the Diwan of Royal Court issued a statement of greetings from His Majesty the Sultan.

“His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has addressed a message of greetings and best wishes to the people of Oman and residents on its territories on the occasion of Eid Al Adha 1441 AH. His Majesty the Sultan also extended his greetings to the Islamic nation on this occasion, praying to the Almighty Allah to make this Eid return with prosperity, bounty and blessings on all.”
The statement said that His Majesty the Sultan gave Royal directives to extend Eid Al Adha holidays for public and private sectors till August 6 and work will resume on August 9.
