Oman Begins Preparations for 2026 Budget, Aligns Spending with Eleventh Five-Year Plan Goals

Muscat: Senior government officials convened to discuss the preparatory framework for Oman’s 2026 state budget, with a strong focus on aligning financial allocations with the objectives of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan.

The meeting underscored the need for government agencies to ensure that annual plans are closely linked to their allocated budgets, reinforcing fiscal discipline and strategic planning. Emphasis was also placed on the continued use of the performance control index, a key tool for monitoring the efficiency and impact of public spending.

Officials stressed that aligning financial resources with measurable outcomes is essential for enhancing transparency, boosting economic performance, and achieving the Sultanate’s long-term development goals under Oman Vision 2040.
