Oman and Belarus Sign Key Agreements to Boost Cooperation in Technology and Transport Sectors

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus signed three key memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in Muscat, aimed at enhancing cooperation in technology transfer and the transport sector. The first MoU, between Karwa Motors and the Belarusian company Amkodor, outlines a joint framework for industrial and commercial collaboration, enabling both sides to expand operations into Oman, the wider GCC region, and African markets. The second MoU, signed between Karwa Motors and Belarusian manufacturer MAZ, focuses on cooperation in manufacturing and distributing transport vehicles, specialized vehicles, and trailers. It also includes the establishment of an integrated production line at Karwa Motors’ plant in Oman, the transfer of technical know-how, delivery of specialized training programmes, and technical support to enhance the skills of national talent.

The third MoU, signed between the Oman National Engineering and Investment Company (ONEIC) and Belarusian technology firm Delivery Software “Delivio”, is centered on providing advanced digital solutions and modern software to serve Oman and regional markets. This agreement emphasizes innovation in information and communications technology (ICT), artificial intelligence (AI) applications, fintech solutions, and services that facilitate digital transformation and business automation.

The signing ceremony was attended by Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), and Dr. Abdullah Masoud Al Harthy, Honorary Consul of Belarus to Oman, along with other senior officials from both countries. These MoUs reflect the ongoing efforts of the Omani-Belarusian Joint Committee to strengthen strategic partnerships, drive technology transfer, develop national capabilities, and establish Oman as a regional hub for high-quality investment projects.
