Oman Airports to monitor and reduce passenger wait times at check-in counters

Muscat : The initiative was announced by Eng. Hamoud Al Alawi, Acting CEO of Oman Airports, on the sidelines of annual media forum held jointly with Oman Air to review 2024 achievements and plans for transformation toward financial sustainability.

Speaking to a local news channel, Al Alawi explained that manpower will be deployed based on data collected from the airport’s monitoring systems. “Waiting times in queues will be measured, and manpower will be distributed to check-in counters based on the criteria, data, and statistics we receive from these systems,” he said.

He clarified that long queues are not necessarily a concern if the wait time remains short, but any situation where both the line and the delay are long is deemed unacceptable. “If the queue is long and the wait is long, then that is unacceptable, and we seek to reduce it,” Al Alawi stated.
