Muscat: The initiative, unveiled under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mahad bin Saeed Baowain, Minister of Labour, will focus on advancing the governorate’s economic and cultural infrastructure.
His Excellency Mahmoud bin Yahya Al Dhahli, Governor of North Al Sharqiyah, highlighted that the awards mark a crucial step in positioning the governorate as a hub for innovative and sustainable development.
The awards, according to Zubaida bint Salem Al Shidhani, the official spokesperson for the governorate, aim to harness national talents to create a competitive environment that fuels creativity and innovation. “This will activate partnerships across sectors, laying the foundation for long-term sustainable growth,” she emphasized.
In line with the “Innovative Economy” vision, the development awards encompass three key categories. The first, the Architectural Innovation Award, focuses on revitalizing vital sites in the Wilayats of Ibra, Bidiya, Al Mudhaibi, and Sinaw. This award aims to transform these areas into attractive tourist destinations by blending heritage with modern architecture, while also utilizing unused lands to boost local tourism and economy.
The Institutional Excellence for Government Institutions award seeks to motivate public sector entities to enhance service delivery and implement innovative projects that raise efficiency and productivity. The third category, Community Contribution and Volunteer Work, is designed to inspire individuals and volunteer groups to launch sustainable initiatives that strengthen social ties and promote collaboration across sectors.
