Mizoram launches mobile app for farmers

The Mizoram government, on July 9, has launched a mobile application for farmers to help them acquire the latest updates relating to agriculture. The application is available in the Google playstore.

Agriculture minister C Lalrinsanga said that the state government has been making massive efforts to reduce the hardships faced by farmers during this coronavirus pandemic.

Lalrinsanga further stated that technological and mechanical innovations are highly beneficial to increase the income of farmers.

He said that maize cultivation is being practiced in a massive way for the first time in the state under the state’s flagship programme – Socio-Economic Development Policy (SEDP).

The newly launched mobile application will have various features, including information on the cultivation of various crops, the maximum requirement for seeds and estimated total production in first cultivation, and the protection of crops from pest infestation.
