New Delhi, the Mollywood movie released in 1987 was a huge hit at the box-office, and it helped Mammootty to affirm his stardom in the industry. The film was directed by Joshiy, and the script was penned by acclaimed writer Dennis Joseph. The big-budget movie portrayed the story of G Krishnamoorthy, an investigative journalist based in New Delhi.

Recently, several reports surfaced online stating that cinematographer Jayanan Vincent is planning to make a sequel to this yesteryear blockbuster. Now, Dennis Joseph, the scriptwriter of the film has revealed that he has not given consent to anyone to make the sequel for this movie.

Dennis Joseph made these remarks while interacting recently with The Cue. During the talk, Joseph revealed that nobody has approached him to make a sequel to New Delhi.

“Nobody has approached me to make a sequel to New Delhi. Nobody has asked me permission, and I have not given any consent. To make things clear, I have never thought about making a sequel to New Delhi,” said Joseph.

New Delhi was a movie that played a crucial role in saving the career of Mammootty which was sinking in the 1980s. Mammootty, at that time, was delivering consecutive flops, and producers were reluctant to bankroll money for Mammootty films. However, New Delhi emerged as a blockbuster at the box-office, and it revived the career of Mammootty.
