Abdussalam N.V., an Indian businessman living in Muscat, has won Dh20 million jackpot at the Big Ticket draw held in Abu Dhabi on January 3. His winning ticket 323601 was bought online on December 29.

Initially, Big Ticket officials could not be locate the winner and reached out to the community for assistance. The winner had mistakenly given the India code instead of Oman’s which was why he remained inaccessible to the officials.

Abdussalam, 28, runs a shopping centre in Oman and is a father of two. He was grateful for the win and said a good portion of the money will go to securing his children’s future. Abdussalam, who has been living in Oman for the past three years, hails from Kozhikode district.

A regular participant of Big Ticket, he won on his fifth attempt.

Two UAE residents were also lucky — Saju Thomas from India won Dh3 million while Ejaz Rafi Kiyani from Pakistan got Dh1 million.
