Kerala sees slight dip in positivity rate, records 5,471 new COVID cases

Kerala on February 13 reported 5,471 new Covid cases, informed Health Minister KK Shailaja. The test positivity rate saw a slight drop and was recorded at 6.36 percent. 5,835 recoveries were also reported on this day.

The district-wise statistics of positive cases: Kozhikode – 750, Ernakulam – 746, Thrissur – 553, Alappuzha – 506, Pathanamthitta – 480, Kollam – 460, Kottayam – 376, Thiruvananthapuram – 363, Malappuram – 308, Kannur – 279, Idukki – 203, Wayanad – 161, Palakkad – 153 and Kasaragod – 133.

None of the UK returnees tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. So far, 82 UK returnees tested positive for the virus infection. 70 of them have recovered. 10 among the patients have been identified with the mutant virus strain.

85,969 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. So far, 1,05,26,236 samples were tested across various priority groups.

Sixteen deaths were confirmed due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths in the state touched 3,970
