COVID-19 has been confirmed for 5063 people in the state today. The district-wise break-up of the number of infected are Kozhikode 715, Ernakulam 607, Kannur 478, Thiruvananthapuram 422, Kottayam 417, Thrissur 414, Malappuram 359, Kollam 260, Pathanamthitta 259, Palakkad 252, Kasaragod 247, Idukki 246, Alappuzha 235 and Wayanad 152.
No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19in the past 24 hours. COVID-19has so far been confirmed by 111 people from the UK (103), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 107 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
During the last 24 hours, 63,240 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 8.01. A total of 1,36,41,881 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
It has been confirmed today that 22 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,750.
Today, 162 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 4,463 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 413 is not clear. Kozhikode 691, Ernakulam 578, Kannur 372, Thiruvananthapuram 295, Kottayam 376, Thrissur 408, Malappuram 332, Kollam 249, Pathanamthitta 240, Palakkad 96, Kasargod 219, Idukki 231, Alappuzha 232 and Wayanad 144 were affected by the disease.
Twenty-five health workers were affected. Kannur 11, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur 3, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Kasaragod 2 each, Kollam and Kozhikode 1 each were affected by the disease.
The test results of 2475 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 187, Kollam 308, Pathanamthitta 74, Alappuzha 105, Kottayam 250, Idukki 48, Ernakulam 126, Thrissur 207, Palakkad 170, Malappuram 330, Kozhikode 228, Wayanad 60, Kannur 291 and Kasaragod 91 were negative today. With this, 36,185 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,12,758 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 1,60,181 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,54,726 are under home / institutional quarantine and 5455 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 933 people were admitted to hospitals today.
Today there are eight new hotspots and two areas were excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 369 hotspots.
