COVID-19 has been confirmed for 8,778 people in Kerala on April 14. The district-wise break-up of the number of affected are Ernakulam 1226, Kozhikode 1098, Malappuram 888, Kottayam 816, Kannur 748, Thiruvananthapuram 666, Thrissur 544, Alappuzha 481, Palakkad 461, Kollam 440, Kasaragod 424, Pathanamthitta 373, Idukki 340 and Wayanad 273.
No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 112 people from the UK (104), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 107 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
A total of 65,258 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 13.45. A total of 1,39,52,957 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
It has been confirmed today that 22 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,836.
Today, 205 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state and 7,905 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 627 is not clear. The worst affected districts are Ernakulam 1185, Kozhikode 1062, Malappuram 832, Kottayam 747, Kannur 619, Thiruvananthapuram 507, Thrissur 527, Alappuzha 478, Palakkad 219, Kollam 421, Kasaragod 400, Pathanamthitta 344, Idukki 303 and Wayanad 261.
The disease affected 41 health workers. Kannur 13, Kottayam 8, Thrissur 5, Wayanad 4, Ernakulam 3, Kollam, Palakkad 2 each, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode and Kasaragod 1 each were affected by the disease.
The test results of 2642 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 338, Kollam 173, Pathanamthitta 194, Alappuzha 115, Kottayam 236, Idukki 57, Ernakulam 201, Thrissur 249, Palakkad 68, Malappuram 261, Kozhikode 472, Wayanad 66, Kannur 140 and Kasaragod 72 were found to be negative today. With this, 58,245 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,25,775 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 1,90,199 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,81,873 are under home / institutional quarantine and 8326 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 1,384 people were admitted to hospitals.
Today there are four new hotspots and no area is excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 420 hotspots.
