Kerala reports 2,541 COVID-19 cases on April 3

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 2,541 people in Kerala today. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Kozhikode 568, Ernakulam 268, Kannur 264, Kollam 215, Thrissur 201, Malappuram 191, Thiruvananthapuram 180, Kasaragod 131, Kottayam 126, Palakkad 115, Alappuzha 81, Wayanad 77, Pathanamthitta 72 and Idukki 52.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed Kovid-19 in the past 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 111 people from the UK (103), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 104 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

During the last 24 hours, 44,779 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 5.67. A total of 1,33,09,773 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

It has been confirmed that 12 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,658.

Today, 108 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 2261 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 161 is not clear. Kozhikode 545, Ernakulam 257, Kannur 213, Kollam 209, Thrissur 191, Malappuram 181, Thiruvananthapuram 130, Kasaragod 115, Kottayam 120, Palakkad 44, Alappuzha 75, Wayanad 72, Pathanamthitta 62 and Idukki 47 were affected by contact.

Eleven health workers were affected by the disease. Health workers from Kannur 3, Thrissur 2, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Wayanad 1 each were affected.

The test results of 1660 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 130, Kollam 142, Pathanamthitta 63, Alappuzha 79, Kottayam 174, Idukki 88, Ernakulam 176, Thrissur 163, Palakkad 54, Malappuram 173, Kozhikode 202, Wayanad 34, Kannur 92 and Kasaragod 90 were negative today. With this, 27,274 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,00,186 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 1,42,761 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,38,455 are under home / institutional quarantine and 4,306 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 634 people were admitted to hospitals today.

Today there are two new hotspots and nine areas were excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 357 hotspots.
