Kerala reports 1,239 fresh COVID-19 cases on March 22

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 1,239 people in Kerala on March 22. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Thiruvananthapuram 175, Kannur 125, Kozhikode 114, Kollam 112, Ernakulam 106, Alappuzha 103, Idukki 91, Thrissur 89, Malappuram 81, Kottayam 70, Palakkad 59, Pathanamthitta 46, Kasaragod 44 and Wayanad 24 districts were affected today.
No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. COVID-19has so far been confirmed by 107 people from the UK (102), South Africa (4) and Brazil (1). Of these, 101 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

During the last 24 hours, 34,821 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 3.56. A total of 1,26,96,542 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing. It has been confirmed today that 12 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,507.

Today, 60 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. A total of 1,067 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 106 is not clear. Thiruvananthapuram 115, Kannur 95, Kozhikode 106, Kollam 108, Ernakulam 98, Alappuzha 100, Idukki 86, Thrissur 87, Malappuram 80, Kottayam 66, Palakkad 20, Pathanamthitta 43, Kasaragod 39 and Wayanad 24 were affected by the disease.

Six health workers were affected by the disease. Health workers from Kannur 3, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode 1 each contracted the disease.

The test results of 1766 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 92, Kollam 170, Pathanamthitta 132, Alappuzha 126, Kottayam 115, Idukki 17, Ernakulam 102, Thrissur 215, Palakkad 96, Malappuram 154, Kozhikode 264, Wayanad 18, Kannur 214 and Kasaragod 51 were found to be negative today. With this, 24,081 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 10,76,571 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 1,26,125 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,22,382 are under home / institutional quarantine and 3743 in hospitals. A total of 427 people were admitted to hospitals today.
Today there are two new hotspots. No area is excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 355 hotspots.
