Imran Khan quits acting, confirms Akshay Oberoi

Imran Khan who made his Bollywood debut with the movie ‘Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa’ in 2008 was widely considered a superstar material. Even though the film was a blockbuster at the box-office, he faced a huge setback in his career after delivering a series of flop films that include ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’, ‘Break Ke Baad’, and ‘Matru Ki Bijilee Ka Mandola’.

And now, the actor has apparently decided to quit acting, and the news has been confirmed by his friend and actor Akshay Oberoi.

“My best friend in Bollywood is Imran Khan, who is no longer an actor because he has quit acting. Imran is my closest friend, whom I can get up at 4 am and call. I and Imran have been with each other for almost 18 years, we studied acting together at Kishore Acting School in Andheri West,” said Akshay in a recent interview.

However, Akshay made it clear that Imran Khan is more of a writer and director than an actor. He also added that Imran Khan may direct a film very soon.

Imran Khan’s last film to hit the screens was Katti Batti, released in 2018. Even though the film was released with huge pre-release hype, it bombed at the box-office.
