Heatwave conditions in Northwest, Central India for next 2-3 days, says IMD

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted heatwave conditions over Northwest and central India for the next two to three days. The weather department also predicted an intense spell of rainfall over northeast India for the next five days.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in Delhi on Saturday settled at 28.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The maximum temperature is expected to touch 44 degrees Celsius, it said.

The southwest monsoon Friday advanced into West Bengal, at least four days ahead of its normal onset date and has covered some parts of the sub-Himalayan districts of the state, the Met department said.
