Google may launch its first foldable phone next year

Google has been said to be working on a foldable Pixel phone for a long time. Some reports hinted at patents from Google about an upcoming phone with a folding design.
The upcoming foldable from Google is codenamed “Passport” and might be called Pixel XE, according to reports.

Several other media reports suggest that Google will be using Samsung foldable display for the Foldable Pixel. In addition to that, a source Korean source says that Google has requested Samsung Display (a separate Samsung company that manufactures displays) a 7.6-inch displays for an upcoming device. We strongly believe that this for the upcoming Pixel foldable.

Google is taking a plunge by getting into the foldable game as the tech is not very refined. However, it will be foolish to deny that foldable smartphone tech is the next big thing.

The foldable tech has improved by leaps and bounds in the past couple of years. Devices like Samsung Galaxy A few big players in the smartphone industry have already jumped into foldable tech. Fold 2, Moto Razr, Samsung Galaxy Flip Z and the latest Huawei Mate X2 have raised the bar a notch up. Hence, Google will have to buckle up if it wants to compete with players like Samsung and Huawei in the foldable market.
