The Ministry of Labor in Muscat has announced a six-month suspension of visa issuance for expatriates in 13 specific business sectors. This decision aims to enhance employment opportunities for Omani nationals.
The sectors affected by this ban include construction trades, cleaning services, loading trades, electrical work, bricklaying, steel fixing, waiting staff, painting, cooking, carpentry, barbering, and tailoring.
The new rule will take effect on September 1. The government has implemented this ban as part of a broader strategy to boost job opportunities for locals. Additionally, the state has been actively pursuing agricultural policies, which are reviewed and renewed every six months.
