Elderly woman who recovered from coronavirus in February tests positive again

Chinese health authorities have revealed that an elderly woman, aged 68 has been tested positive for coronavirus again after she was recovered in February 2020. As the pathogen has resurged in a cured body, medical experts have started worrying about the timespan which is actually required to completely eliminate coronavirus from a human system.

According to local media reports, the new case is being reported from the Jingzhou area of central China’s Hubei province. It was during the initial days of the coronavirus outbreak that this woman had tested positive for the virus. Later, she recovered, but in the first week of August, she started showing the symptoms again. On August 09, her test results came, and it suggested that the woman is infected with the coronavirus.

As soon as the report came, health authorities quarantined the elderly woman. Authorities also conducted coronavirus tests on her close contacts, and all the results came negative.

Even though China has successfully flattened the coronavirus curve in recent months, small clusters infections in different cities and imported cases still continue to bother the healthcare sector in the country.

A few hours back, China has revealed that imported chicken wings from Brazil were infected with the coronavirus. Authorities made this conclusion when the local disease control centers tested a surface sample taken from the chicken wings as part of routine screenings. Earlier, healthcare scientists had also traced coronavirus infection in shrimps imported from Ecuador to China.
