Dubai is set to commemorate a significant milestone in its public transport sector as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Dubai Metro. The event, titled ’15 Years on Track,’ promises a range of promotions, surprises, and entertainment for both visitors and residents from around the world.
The celebrations will feature various activities and collaborations, including partnerships with LEGO Middle East, Legoland Dubai, Igloo, and Al Jabir Gallery. Emirates Post will also play a role by launching a special 15th Anniversary Stamp Collection, which will be available for collectors.
A unique Knoll card, designed in collaboration with LEGO Middle East, has been released to mark the occasion. Additionally, a special event named ‘Metro Babies’ will be held on September 21, targeting children born on September 9, 2009, the same year the Dubai Metro was launched. Parents of these children can register for the event on the RTA website.
Igloo will launch limited-edition ice creams shaped like the Dubai Metro, with 5,000 ice creams containing sticks with secret codes. Those who find these codes will be eligible for a Dh 5,000 discount car from Dus.
From September 21 to 27, various metro stations will host musical performances as part of the 4th Metro Music Festival. Organized by Brand Dubai, a division of the Dubai Government Media Office, the festival will feature a blend of Emirati and international artists, offering metro commuters a chance to enjoy contemporary music.
Brand Dubai’s annual festivals continue to attract a diverse audience, providing vibrant cultural experiences for both local and international attendees.
