Muscat : Mohsen Khamisi, through his account on the X platform, shared suggestions from a student of the Royal Oman Police aimed at enhancing the ROP’s digital services.
The key proposals included:
Allowing citizens to obtain an electronic copy of their passport through the Royal Oman Police application.
Sending reminder messages one month and one week prior to the expiration of an individual’s ID card, passport, and driving license.
In response, the Royal Oman Police acknowledged the suggestion, revealing that the electronic passport service is currently in the experimental phase and will soon be available through the ROP application. The police also highlighted that citizens can follow the status of various services for free using the police app.
The ROP also emphasised that citizens, residents, and businesses can subscribe to receive text messages for important updates. These updates include notifications about the expiration of civil or resident cards, passports, vehicle registration, and visa application statuses. To subscribe to this service, individuals can text the number 90058, or access further details through the ROP’s official website and contact the Electronic Services Support Center at 80080077.
