According to airport authorities, this service benefits transit passengers, those exploring the city during a layover, or travellers wanting to move around baggage-free before their flight.
Dubai International Airport (DXB, the world’s busiest airport by international passenger traffic, offers luggage storage facilities across all three terminals. The service is available 24/7 and in all three terminals of the hub.
At Terminal 1, standard-sized luggage storage costs Dh40 for up to 12 hours, while larger or valuable luggage is charged at Dh50. The storage facility is located at dnata Baggage Services, at the arrival level, near Boots Pharmacy and Etisalat.
Terminal 2’s pricing is the same as Terminal 1—Dh40 for standard-sized luggage and Dh50 for larger or valuable items. dnata Baggage Services operates the facility. And in Terminal 3, the main passenger terminal for Emirates fliers, the offers are slightly lower, with standard-sized luggage storage at Dh35 for up to 12 hours and larger luggage at Dh40.
The service is located at Emirates Left Luggage, Arrival level, near Exit 1, behind Boots Pharmacy.
Service in Abu Dhabi
Zayed International Airport, which welcomed over 29 million passengers in 2024, also provides a luggage storage service with flexible pricing. For up to 3 hours, the charge is Dh35, and for up to 24 hours, passengers have to pay Dh70. For up to 48 hours, the charge is Dh105. And for up to 72 hours, the airport charges Dh140. A charge of Dh35 per day applies for storage beyond 72 hours.
According to travel experts, luggage storage is a practical solution for travellers with long layovers who want to explore the city without carrying heavy bags. It is also beneficial for those arriving early before hotel check-in or departing late after check-out.
