Daily deaths from COVID-19 reach 213 in Kerala on June 2

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 19,661 people in Kerala today. The district-wise break-up of the number of infected are Thiruvananthapuram 2,380, Malappuram 2,346, Ernakulam 2,325, Palakkad 2,117, Kollam 1,906, Alappuzha 1,758, Kozhikode 1,513, Thrissur 1,401, Idukki 917, Kottayam 846, Kannur 746, Pathanamthitta 638, Kasaragod 461 and Wayanad 307 districts were diagnosed with the disease today.

A total of 1,28,525 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 15.3. A total of 2,00,55,047 samples have been tested so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 126 people from the UK (116), South Africa (9) and Brazil (1). Of these, 125 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

Today, 213 deaths have been confirmed due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 9,222.

Today, 156 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state and 18,340 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 1,081 is not clear. Thiruvananthapuram 2,241, Malappuram 2,272, Ernakulam 2,181, Palakkad 1,379, Kollam 1,892, Alappuzha 1,753, Kozhikode 1,490, Thrissur 1,394, Idukki 878, Kottayam 822, Kannur 684, Pathanamthitta 611, Kasaragod 450 and Wayanad 293 were affected by the disease.

The disease affected 84 health workers. Health workers were affected in Ernakulam 15, Kannur 14, Pathanamthitta 11, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam 10 each, Kasaragod 8, Wayanad 4, Idukki, Palakkad 3 each, Alappuzha, Malappuram 2 each, Thrissur and Kozhikode 1 each.

A total of 29,708 people who were diagnosed and treated were cured. Thiruvananthapuram 2531, Kollam 4139, Pathanamthitta 905, Alappuzha 2040, Kottayam 1358, Idukki 922, Ernakulam 4910, Thrissur 1706, Palakkad 2569, Malappuram 4327, Kozhikode 1963, Wayanad 397, Kannur 1296 and Kasaragod 645 were cured. With this, 1,92,165 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 23,64,210 have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 7,42,157 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 7,05,375 are under home / institutional quarantine and 36,782 are under observation in hospitals. A total of 2,840 people were newly admitted to hospitals.

No new hotspot was declared today and 10 areas were excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 877 hotspots.
