COVID vaccine centre opened at VPS Lakeshore Hospital

M Swaraj MLA inaugurates the COVID vaccine centre at Kochi’s VPS Lakeshore Hospital by handing over the first vaccine kit to S.K. Abdulla, CEO, VPS Lakeshore Hospital. Also seen are Mrs. Celine Mathew, Nursing Head; Mr. Subhash Scaria, COO; Dr. Hari Lakshmanan, COVID Nodal Officer; Dr.Shoba, COVID Vaccine Officer and Dr. H. Ramesh, Director of Medical Services.

A COVID vaccine centre was opened at VPS Lakeshore Hospital. The vaccine centre was inaugurated by M. Swaraj MLA by handing over the first vaccine kit to S.K. Abdulla, CEO, VPS Lakeshore Hospital, on January 27. Dr. Sajan P. Augustine, Senior Medical Officer, Emergency Department, received the first vaccine.

On the first day, nearly 100 health workers were vaccinated at the centre. Abdulla said the health workers who were to receive the vaccine were chosen as per the priority list sent by the Department of Health, Government of Kerala. In VPS Lakeshore alone, there are about 2,700 health workers. The vaccine centre works from 9am to 5pm.
