Complaint lodged against Silambarasan after he caught a real cobra

It was around a few days back that little superstar Silambarasan announced his comeback to the industry, by sharing the first look motion poster of his upcoming movie Eeswaran. In the teaser, Silambarasan was seen posing with a cobra on his shoulder, and the new look of the actor received widespread acclaim from all corners.

And now, a video of the actor catching a real cobra has surfaced online, and it has irked animal lovers. According to the latest updates, a Chennai-based animal rights activist and former member of the performing animals sub-committee has lodged a complaint against the actor for doing such an act with a snake.

The complaint has been given to the forest department and the Animal Welfare Board. According to Indian law, it is illegal to use snakes as performing animals in movies.

“The snake in the video looks real and appears like it has been defanged or drugged. This amounts to animal cruelty,” said the complainant.

According to reports, the visuals were shot during the shooting of Eeswaran. The video has already gone viral on the internet, and it is receiving mixed reactions from viewers.

Acclaimed filmmaker Suseenthiran is directing Eeswaran. Nidhi Agarwal is paired opposite Silambarasan in this movie. S Thaman has been roped in to compose the music for this movie. An official announcement regarding the remaining cast and crew is expected to be made in the coming days.
