BTS becomes the first group after The Beatles to achieve this rare feat

The K-Pop group BTS has become the first group to hit the number 1 spot on Billboard 200 chart since The Beatles. The group- which includes RM, Jin, Sugar, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook- claimed their number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with their newly-released album BE.

BE is the fifth album to achieve the No.1 spot on the music chart, making BTS the only South Korean band to achieve this feat. The last group to top the Billboard 200 with five consecutive albums was The Beatles.

Their race to world domination began with Love Yourself: Tear in May 2018, followed by Love Yourself: Answer in August 2018, Map of the Soul: Persona in April 2019 and Map of the Soul: 7 in February 2020.

The Beatles hit the No.1 spot five times between July 30,1966 and December 28,1968. Oddly enough, it took BTS two years and six months to stake their claim over the No.1 spot.

Not long ago, BTS also got its first major Grammy nod, for their single Dynamite in the Best Pop Duo/ Group Performance category, in a breakthrough for a South Korean group.
