Kolkotta:The West Bengal government on Thursday dropped state minister Partha Chatterjee from all the posts in the cabinet with effect from July 28.
Chatterjee along with his close associate Arpita Mukherjee was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after the agency recovered Rs 20 crore cash from the latter’s residence last week while investigating into the alleged school jobs scam that took place when he was the Education Minister.
On Wednesday, the ED again seized Rs 27.90 crore cash and about 6 kg of gold from a second flat of Mukherjee.Following this, Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary and spokesperson Kunal Ghosh on Thursday called for his expulsion from the party and the ministry.
