AirAsia flight aborts take-off after suffering bird hit

An AirAsia flight was forced to abort its operations after it suffered a bird hit during the take-off. All passengers and crew are safe, confirmed the Airport officials. The plane, AirAsia flight (i5-632), was scheduled to fly from Ranchi to Mumbai.

The aircraft is currently being inspected and the flight will depart once it will be given clearance to operate.

“AirAsia India prioritises the safety of our guests and crew and regrets the inconvenience caused on account of this delay,” said the spokesperson.

“All guests are being attended to and provided with refreshments by our guest services staff,” the spokesperson added.

The incident comes a day after Air India Express flight from Dubai with 176 passengers overshot the tabletop runway at Karipur airport in Kozhikode. The plane under the Vande Bharat Mission, fell into a valley 35 feet below and broke into two portions, killing 18 passengers including 2 pilots.
