Actress Parvathy resigns from AMMA following Edavela Babu’s derogatory comments

NIRMAL YESODA

Mollywood actress Parvathy Thiruvothu has resigned from AMMA, after expressing her strong protest against the comments made by general secretary Edavela Babu about Bhavana. The actress also claimed that the comments made by Edavela Babu showed his nauseating attitude, and she urged everyone to follow her route.

Recently, during an interview given to Reporter TV, Edavela Babu was asked whether Bhavana will be a part of the new movie that will feature all major stars in Mollywood. However, Babu revealed that it is practically impossible to bring back people from the dead, and made it clear that the actress is not a part of AMMA.

“Bhavana is not a member of AMMA. We cannot bring back dead people,” said Babu during the interview.

Following the comments made by Edavela Babu, Parvathy Thiruvothu lashed out at him and called his remarks disgusting and mortifying.

“I have abandoned all hope that anything will ever change within this association. His utterly disgusting and mortifying remark comparing a woman member who had been badly let down by this organisation and consequently left it, to a dead person is beyond correction,” wrote Parvathy on his Facebook page.

In her Facebook post, Parvathy Thiruvothu also asked Edavela Babu to step down from the chair of the general secretary.

“I am sure that when the media starts discussing this remark, many of his peers will support him. I would like to resign from AMMA with immediate effect. Moreover, I strongly demand the resignation of Mr.Edavela Babu,” added Parvathy.
