COVID-19 was confirmed for 7,789 people in Kerala on October 15, while 7,082 patients under treatment were cured of the infection. Twenty-three deaths were confirmed as due to COVID-19, according to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
While 6,486 people got the infection through contact, the source of the infection was not known in the case of 1,049 people.
A total of 128 health workers were also among the infected and 50,154 samples were checked in the last 24 hours.
A majority of the infected were in Kozhikode (1,246) and Ernakulam (1,209) districts. There were a total of 94,517 people under treatment for COVID-19 in the State.
