7,445 confirmed with COVID-19 on Sept. 27

For the second consecutive day, more than 7,000 people were confirmed with COVID-19. On September 27, 7,445 people were confirmed with the viral infection of which 6,404 were due to contact and the source of infection for 561 infected was not confirmed.

Twenty-one deaths were also confirmed on the day bringing the total number of deaths to 677. Of the infected 60 were from foreign countries and 309 from other States.

The district-wise break-up of the number of infected were 956 from Kozhikode, 924 from Ernakulam, 915 from Malappuram, 853 from Thiruvananthapuram, 690 from Kollam, 573 from Thrissur, 488 from Palakkad, 476 from Alappuzha, 426 from Kottayam, 332 from Kannur, 263 from Pathanamthitta, 252 from Kasaragod, 172 from Wayanad and 125 from Idukki.
