720 infected with COVID-19 on July 21 in Kerala

Seven hundred and twenty people tested positive for COVID-19 in Kerala on July 21. Of this 528 people contracted the infection through close contact and the source of infection for 34 people was not known. Seventy-two-year-old Victoria of Pulluvila, Thiruvananthapuram died of the infection on the day. There are a total of 353 hotspots in the State as on July 21 and 8,056 people under treatment.
Two hundred and seventy-four patients were cured of the infection, while 17 health workers were among those infected; 29 DSC personnel and four ITBP personnel were also infected on the day. Of the total infected, 82 people arrived from abroad and 54 from other States.
The total number of infected included 150 people Thiruvananthapuram district, 85 each in Kollam district, 80 in Ernakulam district, 61 in Malappuram district, 57 in Kannur district, 46 each in Alappuzha and Palakkad districts, 40 each in Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Kasargod districts, 39 each in Kozhikode and Kottayam districts, 19 in Thrissur district and 17 people in Wayanad district.
