4,106 confirmed with COVID-19 on Feb 24

COVID 19 has been confirmed in 4,106 cases in the Kerala on February 24. The worst affected districts are Pathanamthitta 512, Kozhikode 483, Ernakulam 473, Kollam 447, Kottayam 354, Thrissur 341, Malappuram 329, Thiruvananthapuram 263, Alappuzha 246, Kannur 199, Kasaragod 126, Wayanad 121, Palakkad 109 and Idukki 103.
It was confirmed in the last 24 hours in three people were from the UK. With this, COVID has so far been confirmed in 91 recent arrivals from the UK. Of these, 76 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

A total of 70,568 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 5.82. A total of 1,12,08,411 samples have been sent for testing so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.

Today, it has been confirmed that 17 deaths in the last few days have been caused by COVID. This brings the total death toll to 4,136. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.

Today, 107 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state and 3,714 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 262 is not clear. Pathanamthitta 469, Kozhikode 465, Ernakulam 446, Kollam 439, Kottayam 333, Thrissur 334, Malappuram 313, Thiruvananthapuram 179, Alappuzha 239, Kannur 141, Kasargod 112, Wayanad 109, Palakkad 40 and Idukki 95 were affected by the disease.

Twenty-three health workers were affected by the disease. Health workers from Kannur 8, Ernakulam 4, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Wayanad 2, Kollam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kasaragod 1 each were affected today.

The test results of 5,885 patients who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 350, Kollam 902, Pathanamthitta 692, Alappuzha 374, Kottayam 449, Idukki 294, Ernakulam 600, Thrissur 362, Palakkad 343, Malappuram 351, Kozhikode 742, Wayanad 86, Kannur 181 and Kasaragod 159 were found to be negative today. With this, 52,869 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 9,87,720 people have so far been freed from COVID.

There are currently 2,28,416 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,20,410 are under home / institutional quarantine and 8006 in hospitals. A total of 906 people were admitted to the hospital today.

No new hotspot and five areas were excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 369 hotspots.
