380 die, 10,667 confirmed with COVID-19 in India

Three hundred eighty people died and 10,667 people were confirmed with COVID-19 in India in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID patients rose to 3.43 lakhs. A total of 9,900 people died in the various states of the country until now.

Of those infected with the virus, 1.80 lakh were cured with 1.53 lakhs undergoing treatment, according to data with the Ministry of Health. It was for the fifth consecutive day that the number of patients were above 10,000 on a day.

The virus has been spreading fast in the country with Asia’s largest number of COVID-19 patients.

The majority of the patients in the country are in th states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. The number of patients in Maharashtra saw a big spurt even on June 15 with 2,786 people infected.

With that the number of COVID-19 patients in the State reached 1.10 lakhs and 4,128 dead. The number of COVID patients has been particularly rising in Mumbai, Thane and Pune.

In Delhi, 1,647 people were confirmed with the virus on June 15, bringing the total number of infected to 42, 829; 1,400 people died until then.

In Tamil Nadu, 1,843 people were infected in the last 24 hours and 44 COVID infected died on June 15. The total number of COVID patients reached 46,504 with 20,678 being treated; 25,344 were cured, according to the Tamil Nadu Ministry of Health.
