2,616 people confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on March 4

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 2,616 people in Kerala on March 4. Outbreaks were reported in Kozhikode 345, Kollam 258, Thrissur 248, Ernakulam 228, Kottayam 224, Alappuzha 223, Thiruvananthapuram 222, Kannur 204, Malappuram 171, Pathanamthitta 126, Kasaragod 121, Wayanad 89, Palakkad 81 and Idukki 76.

COVID-19 has not been confirmed in the last 24 hours by anyone from the UK. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 99 people from the UK (98) and South Africa (1). Of these, 83 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

In the last 24 hours, 63,041 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 4.15. A total of 1,17,13,060 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

It has been confirmed that 14 deaths in the last few days are due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,255.

Seventy-six of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 2,339 people were infected through contact. The contact source of 181 people is not clear. Kozhikode 325, Kollam 253, Thrissur 241, Ernakulam 207, Kottayam 218, Alappuzha 217, Thiruvananthapuram 147, Kannur 154, Malappuram 158, Pathanamthitta 118, Kasaragod 106, Wayanad 82, Palakkad 42 and Idukki 71 were affected by the disease.

Twenty health workers were affected. Health workers from Kannur 5, Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode, Kasaragod 3 each, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam 2 each, Malappuram and Wayanad 1 each were affected.

The test results of 4,156 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 223, Kollam 262, Pathanamthitta 320, Alappuzha 226, Kottayam 531, Idukki 62, Ernakulam 627, Thrissur 357, Palakkad 81, Malappuram 322, Kozhikode 558, Wayanad 97, Kannur 303 and Kasaragod 187 were found to be negative today. With this, 44,441 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 10,20,671 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 1,89,112 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,82,469 are under home / institutional quarantine and 6,643 are under hospital surveillance. Sixty-eight people were admitted to hospital.

There is no new hotspot and an area has been excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 358 hotspots.
