2,406 people test positive for COVID-19 on Aug. 27 in Kerala; 2,067 cured

With 2,406 people testing positive for COVID-19 on August 27, the total number of cases in Kerala reached 66,761.
The state also registered 2,067 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also confirmed 10 more deaths. With this, the official death toll rose to 267.
So far, 43,757 people recovered from the disease, while 22,673 patients are still under treatment in various hospitals.

The test results of 2,067 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Kovid was going through a critical phase of the epidemic.

The condition of the disease cannot be said to be at its peak in the State. Kerala is one of the first places in the world where Kovid was reported. With this feature in mind, the disease can be kept at bay for a long time without allowing it to reach its peak. Our country has now become the country with the highest number of COVID-19 cases reported in the world.

Compared to Brazil, which ranks second with 47,857 cases, the situation in India is very serious. The death toll in the country is around 1,000 per day. A total of 1,017 deaths were reported on August 26. Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated in southern India. Three lakh cases have been registered in Karnataka. About 5,000 people died.

Another neighboring state, Tamil Nadu, has four lakh cases. About 7000 people died. In Karnataka, 82 out of 10 lakh people died and in Tamil Nadu, 93 out of 10 lakh people died due to Kovid. In Kerala, the death toll has been kept at 8 per 10 lakh. If it had been here in Karnataka or Tamil Nadu, thousands of deaths would have occurred in Kerala as well, the Chief Minister said.
