2,212 people confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on Feb 22

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 2,212 people in Kerala on February 22. Kozhikode 374, Alappuzha 266, Ernakulam 246, Malappuram 229, Thiruvananthapuram 199, Kollam 154, Kottayam 145, Thrissur 141, Kannur 114, Pathanamthitta 97, Kasaragod 86, Palakkad 68, Wayanad 52 and Idukki 41 districts were diagnosed with the disease today.
COVID-19 was confirmed within the last 24 hours by 2 people from the UK. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 88 people who recently came from the UK. Of these, 72 tested negative. A total of 10 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
A total of 38,103 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 5.81. A total of 1,10,68,239 samples have been sent for testing so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.
It has been confirmed that 16 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,105. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.
Thirty-four of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 1,987 people were infected through contact. Source of contact 169 is not clear. Kozhikode 362, Alappuzha 263, Ernakulam 233, Malappuram 221, Thiruvananthapuram 128, Kollam 153, Kottayam 139, Thrissur 136, Kannur 78, Pathanamthitta 89, Kasaragod 78, Palakkad 26, Wayanad 44 and Idukki 37 were affected by contact.

Twenty-two health workers were affected by the disease. Health workers from Kannur 7, Ernakulam 5, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Wayanad, Kasaragod 2 each, Malappuram and Kozhikode 1 each were affected.

The test results of 5037 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 247, Kollam 331, Pathanamthitta 488, Alappuzha 531, Kottayam 861, Idukki 206, Ernakulam 389, Thrissur 395, Palakkad 151, Malappuram 391, Kozhikode 617, Wayanad 142, Kannur 207 and Kasargod 81 were found to be negative today. With this, 55,468 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 9,77,012 have so far been freed from Kovid.
There are currently 2,42,070 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,33,624 are under home / institutional quarantine and 8446 are under observation in hospitals. A total of 825 people were admitted to the hospital today.

There is a new hot spot and an area is excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 372 hotspots.
