107 confirmed with COVID-19 on June 7 in Kerala

For the third day in a row, more than 100 people have been confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala, state’s Health Minister K.K. Shailaja informed in a press release on June 7, 2020. Among the 107 confirmed with the virus are 27 from Malappuram district, 26 from Thrissur district, 13 from Pathanamthitta, nine from Kollam, seven from Alappuzha and six each from Palakkad and Kozhikode districts, four from Thiruvananthapuram district, three each from Kottayam and Kasaragod districts, two from Kannur district and one from Idukki district.

Of the confirmed cases, 71 were from foreign countries (UAE-39, Kuwait-21, Saudi Arabia-4, Russia-2, Tajikistan-2, Qatar-1, Oman-1 and Italy-1), 28 people came from other states (Maharashtra-15, Tamil Nadu-7, Delhi-4, Gujarat-1 and Telangana-1). Eight people were infected when they came in contact with others who had the viral infection. Three persons in Thrissur, two each in Malappuram and Palakkad districts and one person in Kollam were affected by the disease threw close contact.

Meanwhile, the results of 41 patients who were diagnosed with the disease turned negative. Of these 14 were from Thrissur district, two each from Palakkad and Kannur districts, three each from Kollam and Alappuzha districts, one each from Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Malappuram and Kozhikode (from Thrissur) districts.

So far 1,095 people have been diagnosed with the disease. So far 803 have recovered from COVID-19.

The total number of arrivals in the state was 1,87,619, with 47,033 arriving by airports, 1,621 by seaport, 1,20,590 by check post and 18,375 by railways.

A total of 1,91,481 people are under observation in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,89,765 are under the Home / Institutional Quarantine and 1716 in hospitals. A total of 277 people were admitted to the hospital on June 7.
